What is documentary photography? Best described, the documentary style is unobtrusive and very candid. There are little to no “posed” shots. The style is very photo-journalistic. That does not mean, however, that you will not receive “formals”. You sure will!
How long will it take to get everything from my wedding? Usually about a month. The gallery will be posted within two weeks and then another two weeks to receive the CD and/or books.
What do I wear for my photo session? I usually tell people to wear comfortable clothing that is not too busy. For group shots, clothes that coordinate well, look very nice. Baby and children shots are your choice. Please keep in mind, multiple clothing changes can make babies and children very unhappy!
What can I expect at my photo session? We will pick a location of your choice or I can pick one for you. We will then meet at a predetermined time and the shoot will last usually about a half hour to an hour. From there, I’ll edit, upload and order your session. You can then share your gallery with friends and family. I’ll call when everything is ready. NOTE: Baby sessions may take longer because of general fussiness. I take that into consideration when booking your portrait session.
Where will you shoot? I am available to shoot in the Southern Maryland Region. Why only Southern Maryland??? Two reasons: 1. I have very small children and need to be available to get back quick. 2. I am a hometown girl. It’s not that I don’t love the city. I’d just prefer to visit for leisure.
When are you available to meet? During the week Tuesday and Thursday evenings and some Saturdays during the weekend. NO Sunday sessions are available.
How long have you been a photographer? I would probably say I’ve been a photographer my entire life. I’ve always been ‘the one with the camera’. I can still remember my first high school photography class and being in awe when the prints came alive in the developer. I was hooked ever since. I received my B.A. degree from Thomas Edison State College in 2002 and have had a business since 2000.
